I am 20 Dollars

Do you ever feel used? Do you ever feel like you never get to be the crisp 20 dollar bill that everyone wants.... you just get to be the crumpled up, been-through-the-wash-in-someone's-pants, worn out and torn 20 dollar bill? The latter 20 dollar bill is me lately. You might even be the lost twenty dollar bill. People still care about you, but you are on the back burner until one day you will magically reappear in those old jeans. You will then be treated like the 'new' 20 dollar bill. I think everyone wants me for my 'stuff'. But not in the literal sense. People want to use me because there isn't anyone else to hang out with in this small college town, people want to use me to get rides to places they want to go(but not really with me), and people want to use me for my apartment. You know when you feel bad handing the cashier at the grocery store that 20 dollar bill that is barely recognizable? Yep. That's me. I know that someday I will get to be the crisp, pressed, send-to-your-grandson-on-his-birthday-in-a-cute-card kind of 20 dollar bill. The moral of the story is no matter whether you are lost, torn, broken, taped right down the middle, crumpled or been through the wash too many times, you are still worth the full 20 dollars. And one day people will treat you like you are worth your full value. But until then..... just remember what you are worth. Don't let anyone tell you anything different.

College is.......

As most of my readers know, I am currently going to college. I had no idea what to expect when I came here. It was a world of the unknown and it seemed scary. But really, it wasn't. It is one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I LOVE it here! It is absolutely fantastic. I have been introduced to so many endless possibilities. To me, college is staying up super late with your roommates, dragging main to Celene Dion, rides up to the cabin, tons of homework, singles wards, BOYS (of course), movies, spray paint, dinners together, quote walls, Hollister posters, laughing until you can't breathe, spilling your deepest darkest secrets to people you trust, phone calls, dancing on the counter, quesadilla parties, midnight basketball, loud music, shopping trips, studying, FACEBOOK, taking tons of ridiculous pictures, and so much more that can't be explained in a short blog. I never thought I could have this much fun and be this happy when I wasn't with my family. I miss my small town and I miss knowing everyone and everyone knowing me. But this experience is incomparable to the real world. I have only been here for a month and I LOVE it. I can't imagine my life being anything else right now. What is college to you?
